Don't pump gas on MAY 15th
In April 1997, there was a "gas out" conducted nationwide in protest of gas prices. Gasoline prices dropped 30 cents a gallon overnight. On May 15th 2007, all internet users are to not go to a gas station in protest of high gas prices. Gas is now over $3.00 a gallon in most places.
There are 73,000,000+ American members currently on the internet network, and the average car takes about 30 to 50 dollars to fill up. If all users did not go to the pump on the 15th, it would take $2,292,000,000.00 (that's almost 3 BILLION) out of the oil companies pockets for just one day, so please do not go to the gas station on May 15th and lets try to put a dent in the Middle Eastern oil industry for at least one day.
If you agree (which I cant see why you wouldn't) resend this to all your contact list. With it saying, ''Don't pump gas on May 15th"
By the way, yesterday gas was over $3.00 a gallon in Medina County, Ohio.

Don't you think that part of our national addiction to oil is that gas is so cheap here in the US? I for one, would rather see a tax slapped on the gas, if it were to be used for providing better public transportaion, like our bretheren in Europe and Japan do. Part of the Global Warming problem we all face is due to our ridiculous use of gas, and while I appreciate the effort you are proposing, perhaps you can go one step further and propose that everyone try to walk or bike to the location they wish to go to that day....rather than working out at the gym...walk to buy your groceries, and cart them home. Now that's a workout!
Team Member makes a good point. If we all don't buy gas for only one day but don't change anything else, will it really help that much?
Errr, if you've done any research, then you already realize that a one day "boycott" on gas would accomplish nothing. There is also no evidence of an overnight 30 cent drop in price either.
This notion of boycotting gas in a perennial embarrassment to our constituency. It's just plain silly. For more on this and other silly practices we engage in (and politicians fuel), feel free to visit my site and leave comments.
