Because he married a millionaire beer heiress. It's really as simple as that. Think about it. If you are married to a millionaire, have been employed by the taxpayers since 1982, and don't really have to worry about your family's future, heck, why wouldn't you think that the "fundamentals" of the economy are sound?

I think that before anyone as wealthy as the McCain's can attempt to become president they should be stripped of any excess funds/income except for that of the middle/lower class for a period of 2 yrs....do without medical insurance for 2 yrs. have to cut coupons at the grocery store and live in East Cleveland to boot.
John McCain would have a stroke. Cindy would have filed for divorce.
